Allah SWT has appointed a time for the death of every one of us like he has appointed life for us, so every single human will die, only Allah SWT will live forever.
So the question is, do our deads stop when we die? Or they continue benefitting us even after our death?
Can we do something to help our beloved one to ease the torment of the grave for them?
Dua/supplication is the greatest favor of Allah SWT that he has bestowed upon us in this world.
Because of the dua, we’re able to reveal our desires and share them with Allah SWT and ask him for what we really need in this world or in the hereafter.
People vary in their needs because of their languages, forms, and cultures and how they express what they need from Allah SWT, but one thing that is common is that we all make Dua to Allah SWT. and in that, we differ for using different words or different interests or the way we ask Allah.
When a human dies, all his/her deads stop benefitting him/her except three:
-
Sadaqa Jariyah:
If you do some kind of charity work and it continues after your death too, the rewards for that will not stop even when you’re dead.
-
Knowledge:
If you spread knowledge and the people who are learning from you as long as they live you will be getting rewards, and if they also start teaching what they learned from you, the reward will still continue even your students are dead because there are people who are getting benefits form something good that you taught.
In the same way, if you wrote a book as long as people study it and get benefit from it you will be getting rewards for that. -
Pious Kid:
If someone raises his/her kids with Islamic teachings and after parents passed away when the kid makes dua for the parents and asks Allah SWT for mercy and forgiveness for his/her parents this will also benefit the dead person.
Above are the actions that can cause to the punishment of the grave for a dead. As per people’s dua or his/her good deeds.
That is the reason why we make dua to Allah SWT for dead and we should always remember them so that Allah SWT forgives them and if they are getting punishment then He will reduce their punishment.
And we should also continue their good work so that they can get benefit forever.
A dead person in grave is like a person who is about to drown while is looking for something or someone for help, so this dead person also waits badly for the dua form his kinship or relatives and if you make dua for him/her, it makes them so happy and they love it more than anything in this world at that time.
Some of the Best Duas for Deceased:
Making Dua is not the only thing that can benefit the deceased, and can cause Allah’s mercy on his grave.
Yet there are other things that also benefit the dead person.
- Istighfaar: Asking Allah SWT for Maghfirah (to forgive the dead).
- Sadaqah: If you give charity from a dead person, this will also help him.
- Quran: If recite Quran and ask Allah to forgive that person and reward the dead because of the recitation is done you, will also help him/her.
Note: In all that you or the person who is doing to from the behalf of the dead person will also get his own reward as well. Allah SWT will not lesson anybody’s reward.
When you keep making duas for the dead Allah SWT will also reward you after your death inshaAllah.
Dua is a Worship:
It is obligatory on every Muslim man and woman to make dua all the time. No matter if you are happy or sad, in a hard time and when your life is so good because of dua proves that we are slaves of Allah SWT and we need him all the time. We are nothing without his help.
We should make dua for the dead, for our family and for ourselves.
